Two Arrests in the Aftermath of London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Incident

The assault caused the temporary closure of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 parking area.

An additional two individuals have been arrested related to a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people sustained injuries by a substance believed to be an irritant spray, according to law enforcement.

A 24-year-old man, was taken into custody in the Lambeth area for suspected theft and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, authorities confirmed.

These detentions come after a probe into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Prior to the attack, two women had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a car park lift.

A three-year-old girl was among the those hurt during the incident. Five people were taken to the hospital for treatment and were later discharged.

Officers arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault near the scene. He was subsequently released pending further inquiries as the investigation proceeds.

Authorities were alerted at about 08:10 GMT following reports of a number of people hurt by a noxious substance thought to be pepper spray.

The attack - which police said was isolated and not being treated as terrorism - resulted in train delays and the temporary shutdown of the Central Terminal Area tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
