NFL Roundup: Broncos Stage Late Rally Versus Eagles, Ravens Suffer Record Home Defeat

Denver Broncos 21–17 Philadelphia Eagles

Bo Nix found a short touchdown pass and JK Dobbins contributed a two-yard ground touchdown in the final period as the Denver Broncos erased a two-touchdown disadvantage to hand the Philadelphia Eagles their initial defeat of the campaign. The Broncos batted down the Eagles quarterback's final pass on the game's concluding play to hand the reigning title holders to just their second loss in their last 22 games. Denver (3-2) got fortunate in their rally when the Eagles had a late fourth-down conversion called back on a formation infraction whistled against running back Saquon Barkley.

Houston Texans 44–10 Baltimore Ravens

Houston's quarterback passed for 244 passing yards and four touchdowns, and the Texans (two wins and three losses) cruised to a 44-10 win over a depleted Baltimore team, matching both the most lopsided road win in Texans' history and the worst home defeat in Ravens' history. Baltimore (one win and four losses) were missing two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson, and that was not their only problem. Key defenders multiple defensive leaders all were absent, and the Baltimore already were weakened on defense because of a neck problem that ended Nnamdi Madubuike's campaign. Baltimore were also without All-Pro fullback Patrick Ricard and tackle Ronnie Stanley.

Colts Rout Raiders in One-Sided Affair

Jonathan Taylor scored three touchdowns and a two-pointer, and Daniel Jones threw two touchdown passes as the Colts overwhelmed the Raiders. This decisive advantage was Indy's biggest since the 2013 season. Jones completed 20 passes out of 29 attempts for 212 yards and moved to 4-1 as a starter this year, surpassing his total wins over the past two seasons with the New York Giants. Taylor carried 17 times for 66 yards and grabbed three passes for 20 receiving yards. The Colts converted multiple takeaways into touchdowns. Las Vegas fell to 4-1.

Cowboys Soar Past Jets in High-Scoring Game

Dallas' quarterback passed for four touchdown passes, leading the Cowboys to an easy victory over the New York Jets. The Cowboys scored on two 90-yard drives in the second quarter, despite being without four starters on the offensive line. Javonte Williams gained 135 rushing yards and a touchdown and also hauled in a TD pass. Dallas, now 2-2-1, bounced back from a 40-40 tie against Green Bay last week. New York remain winless at zero wins and five losses in their new coach's first season as the leader.

Minnesota Vikings 21–17 Cleveland Browns

Minnesota wideout Jordan Addison caught a 12-yard scoring reception from Carson Wentz with under half a minute remaining to give the Vikings victory over the Browns at the UK venue. The 10-play, 80-yard drive gave the Vikings (3-2) a crucial victory on their overseas journey, which began with a narrow defeat to the Pittsburgh in Ireland last Sunday. This also marred the rookie's debut as starter, as the Browns rookie positioned his squad (1-4) in contention by passing for two scores. Another first-year player Quinshon Judkins rushed for 110 rushing yards on 23 attempts. The quarterback overcame an arm issue that briefly forced him out and directed two touchdown marches in the latter half.

Miami Dolphins 24-27 Carolina Panthers

Carolina's quarterback passed for two scores and Rico Dowdle ran for 206 rushing yards and a score as the Panthers rallied past the Miami Dolphins in Charlotte. Young's quick throw to rookie tight end Mitchell Evans with 1:59 to play gave the Carolina (2-3) the lead for good as they equaled the largest comeback to secure victory in franchise history by erasing a 17-point hole. Young had a horrific first quarter, but he finished 19 completions on 30 attempts for 198 passing yards with an interception. The backup, replacing injured Chuba Hubbard, did his damage on the ground on 23 carries, falling four yards of matching the team's all-time rushing mark. The Dolphins' quarterback threw 27 of 36 for 256 passing yards with three touchdowns and Jaylen Waddle gained 110 yards through the air on six receptions and added a score, but the Miami (1-4) fell to zero wins and three losses in road games.

New York Giants 14–26 New Orleans Saints

New Orleans' quarterback threw an 87-yard score to Rashid Shaheed, defensive back Howden returned a fumble 86 yards for a score, and the Saints beat the turnover-prone Giants for the Saints' first victory under first-year head coach Moore. The QB earned his maiden win in 11 professional starts, throwing for 225 yards without any mistakes. Giants rookie QB Dart, who secured his first career start last week, threw for 202 passing yards and two touchdowns, but also turned the ball over on three occasions. The Giants gave up possession five times in all, none more costly than when the defender stripped running back Cam Skattebo, leading to the safety's TD. Both teams are one win and four losses.
