Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "defeat" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex twice unified title holder Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami's arena on December 19th.
Boxer's Attitude
"I will injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35 years old, said.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I will genuinely try to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and labeled him "a joke" after Ngannou turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, targeted British opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Fury - he's present here," Joshua commented.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Fighter
Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Anthony Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Jake Paul's History
Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought MMA fighters or past-their-prime fighters since turning professional.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in last year.
Commercial Success
However, the relative newcomer continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, regularly earning substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul said.
Size Difference
As both boxers met for the customary stare-down, with their size difference evident, it highlighted just how improbable this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the match is actually proceeding.
